About the project
In 2022–2023, in close cooperation with our partner SSI Schäfer, we carried out three strategic intralogistics projects for end customers: COOP Eskilstuna, the leading food discount chain in Sweden, and Liebherr in Telfs and Bischofshofen in Austria, a well-known manufacturer of heavy construction machinery. The projects aimed to significantly modernize and automate the intralogistics processes in their distribution and production centers. Our activities were preceded by thorough training at the partner’s headquarters, which covered programming standards, the environment, and methods for simulation and design of intralogistics equipment.
Scope of work
Our team of six developers was responsible for comprehensive software development and commissioning work of key components of intralogistics systems. We carried out tasks related to PLC programming and the integration of all line components, ensuring their smooth and efficient operation in accordance with rigorous industry standards.
Key elements of the scope
1) Material transport systems
Commissioning and optimization of groups of roller and belt conveyors, key to efficient product flow.
2) Robotized production targets
Implementation and commissioning of advanced robotic palletizing and depalletizing cells, increasing the efficiency and precision of processes. It was crucial for robotization of production.
3) Storage and handling elements
Integration of high-bay racks, lifts, turntables and visual inspection stations, ensuring optimal use of space and quality verification.
4) Packing stations
Commissioning of film-wrapping stations, so-called ‘wrappers’, finalizing the process of preparing goods for shipment.

Project challenges
Intralogistics projects in the COOP and Liebherr environments were characterized by a high degree of complexity and required precise management. Key challenges included tight deadlines, the need to coordinate work across multiple international construction sites, and integration with clients’ extensive IT systems. The scale of the operations, with hundreds of drives and distributed I/O modules, further increased the level of technical difficulty.
